The city has been featured in many movies, including “The Da Vinci Code” and “Cyrano de Bergerac” which both starred Audrey Tautou (the French actress who plays Hélène de Pothier in “Amélie”). Even if you don’t know who she is (or remember seeing her on screen), she’ll instantly become your favorite French actress once you arrive at this charming town.

You can relax in Avignon after visiting the Pont du Gard, a Roman aqueduct that spans 492 feet across the river Gardon River. You can even take a boat tour through the aqueduct to get a bird's eye view of all its beauty!
